Corey Dozier is a native of Houston, he began working as a professional bassist at age 16. He is an alumnus of HSPVA, subsequently studying on scholarship at New York’s New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. His New School instructors included Lenny White, Doug Weiss and Trevor Dunn. He is the author of several well-reviewed bass method books, published by Mel Bay.
Corey now resides in his hometown where he frequently performs with Jalen Baker, Greg Petito, David Caceres, Tianna Hall and others. He is staff bassist at Houston’s Alley Theatre, and is a popular instructor/mentor for the area’s young bassists.
