We are pleased to announce that Julia Robinson (HSPVA ’07) and David Craig (HSPVA ’86) have joined our Board of Directors. We are proud of their many accomplishments and excited to work together to achieve our goals for DocFest Inc.
We are also thrilled to welcome Patricia Bonner (Kinder HSPVA retired vocal department faculty 1973 – 2019), James Westfall (HSPVA 2000 and present Director of Jazz Studies at Kinder HSPVA), and David DeHoyos (HSPVA ’81 and DocFest’s official photographer) as our newest Advisory Board members. Each has contributed greatly to past DocFest events and concerts, and we look forward to leveraging their knowledge and expertise as we continue to grow.
We hope to see you at our next benefit concert, DocFest 2026, on October 23, 2026, at Zilkha Hall in the Hobby Center, Houston. It promises to be an incredible night of jazz music supporting the Bob and Helen Morgan Jazz Scholarship Fund which benefits the jazz students at Kinder HSPVA. Please join us at the pre-show meet-and-greet or the post-concert reception to meet our new board members and some of our performing artists.
Thus far, DocFest has contributed well over $200,000 to the Helen and Bob Morgan Jazz Scholarship at New York’s New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and Boston’s Berklee College of Music.
