Drummer Joel Fulgham
Joel Fulgham, master percussionist, serves as instructor of drum set at the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music and San Jacinto College. A native Houstonian, Joel was educated at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and University of North Texas. His wide range of performance credits include jazz artists Freddie Hubbard, Eddie Harris, Arnett Cobb, Carl Fontana, Joe Henderson, Joe Lovano, George Coleman, Michael Brecker, and Bill Watrous. Currently he leads the highly acclaimed New Houston Jazz Orchestra as well as the five-piece New York-style small group called “Monstrosity.” Joel also performs regularly with the Houston Symphony, Theatre Under the Stars, and the fusion group Stratus. Additionally, he is first call for many leading local dance bands and show organizations.
