Scott, a celebrated three-time Grammy® Award nominee, is known for his soulful, smoky sound and unique ability to transcend songs across genres. Once you hear his voice, feel his stage presence; you will understand why everyone is talking about “Scotty G.”. Scott’s interest in music was immediate and came naturally. Inspired by his mother, a professional singer in the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York, Scott began at the age of four, emulating his sister by flawlessly playing her piano lessons, and continued at age six when began learning to play guitar. His gravitation toward singing and performing began when he formed his own band. Since then, he has attracted a huge loyal fan-base, is the owner of several highly successful night spots, Scott Gertner’s Skybar & Grille, Scott Gertner’s Sports Bar Live and Scott Gertner’s at Houston Pavilions. All venues are multi-concept live music/restaurant that showcase national acts as well as Scott Gertner himself.
Scott Gertner has entertained audiences across the nation from opening for acts such as Brian McKnight, Erykah Badu, Elton John, Harry Connick Jr., George Benson, Michael Bolton, Will Downing, Gerald Levert, The Neville Brothers, amongst others and his favorite, the late Luther Vandross.
Gertner gives countless hours of his time for fundraisers, fashion shows and holiday events held to benefit cancer research, cerebral palsy, United Fund, Black United Fund, various AIDS foundations, muscular dystrophy, sickle cell anemia and the Anti Defamation League. He also helps raise money for music programs in schools that have no public funding for music education, and performs regularly at inner city schools.
